Mac remote desktop for iPhone

Use your Mac from your iPhone, wherever you are.

DuoDesk puts your Mac's screen on your iPhone and turns the phone into a trackpad and keyboard. It works on any iPhone, and on the foldable iPhone Duo each position (closed, open, or half-folded like a tiny laptop) gets a layout of its own.

Requires iOS 27 and macOS 15 or later. No account needed.

Who it's for

You're away from your desk, but the work on your Mac still needs you.

Your Mac stays at the office or at home

Open a file, answer a message or fix one line of code while you're out, without carrying the computer.

Claude Code or Codex works on your Mac

See how far your tasks have got after you leave your desk, and approve what's waiting for you right from the phone.

All you have is your phone

No laptop to carry or borrow: the iPhone in your pocket is the screen, trackpad and keyboard. On an iPhone Duo, half-fold it and it's a small laptop.

The right layout on every iPhone

The Mac's picture adapts to your phone's screen. On the foldable iPhone Duo, DuoDesk also follows the hinge and switches layouts on its own, without dropping the connection.

Any iPhoneFull screenThe Mac desktop fills the screen, and the whole screen is a trackpad. Tap the layout button to split it: desktop on one half, trackpad on the other.

Features

Trackpad and keyboard

Move, tap, double-tap and press-and-drag with one finger; right-click and scroll with two; pinch to zoom in on small text. The keyboard handles Chinese input and ⌘ shortcuts.

Works across networks

No shared Wi-Fi, no VPN. DuoDesk connects the two devices directly, peer to peer, and falls back to a Cloudflare relay when that fails. End-to-end encrypted either way.

Face ID before every connection

If someone else has your phone, they still can't reach your Mac without your Face ID or passcode. Pairing only works by scanning a code at the Mac, and unpaired devices can't connect.

Privacy screen and auto-lock

While you're connected, the Mac's own display goes dark so people nearby can't see what you're doing. When you disconnect, DuoDesk can lock the Mac.

StandBy panel

When Claude Code or Codex starts working on your Mac, a Live Activity appears on your iPhone's Lock Screen. Charge the phone on its side and StandBy fills the screen with what each task is doing, what's waiting for you and how much usage is left.

Clipboard sync

While connected, text you copy on the Mac lands on your phone, and one tap pastes your phone's text on the Mac.

Pick a display

Choose which display to view on a Mac with several, or let the Mac add a display that matches your phone's screen.

8 languages

English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français and Deutsch.

No account

A Mac and the phones paired with it are the whole relationship. Nothing to sign up for, and no analytics or ads in the app.

Get started in three steps

The first setup happens at the Mac and takes about five minutes.

  1. Install DuoDesk Host on your Mac

Download it from the download page and open it. It moves itself to the Applications folder, lives in the menu bar and starts when you log in.

  2. Allow Screen Recording and Accessibility

Click the DuoDesk icon in the menu bar and follow the prompts in System Settings. One permission sends the picture to your phone; the other carries out your taps and typing.

  3. Scan the code with your iPhone

Choose “Pair New iPhone…” in the DuoDesk menu on the Mac, then tap “Scan to Add Mac” in DuoDesk on your iPhone. The code works once, within 5 minutes.

From then on, open the app, tap your Mac, pass Face ID and you're connected.

Secure by default

End-to-end encrypted

The screen, your input and the clipboard travel encrypted between your iPhone and your Mac only (QUIC with TLS 1.3), and each side pins the other's key.

Servers can't see the content

The rendezvous service that introduces the two devices and the Cloudflare relay only ever handle encrypted data they can't decrypt.

No open ports on the internet

The Mac only connects out to the rendezvous service, and opens a connection only for a verified request from a paired phone.
